Card making: Horizontal Cover Plate --- PART 3

Today I would like to show my sympathy card.

After updating the last blog post, I found one more cover plate and strips set left on my desk. Ooops!! Time to make one more card!

Actually, I needed to make a sympathy card for my aunt. My uncle in Japan passed away just recently. I was not ready to write because I still could not find the word for her. But I take this opportunity to make the sympathy card, for the first time.

Four flowers stand for each of family member, Uncle, aunt, my two cousins. Looking at the biggest flower reminds that my uncle was kind and nice person.

I haven't written inside. But I will.

Now, back to the card making process, I weaved the strips between coverplate borders. It is like white blocks outside the house. Silver strips were used to build walls of the house. The weaving technique was inspired from one of the PapertreyInk's Make It Monday projects in 2014, shown by PTI's design team member, Ashley Cannon Newell.

Since the cover plate has already several vertical stripes, it is far easier than weaving the paper from beginning. Easy, but it surely works well to plant "Cutting Garden" flowers.

What do you think?

Thank you for visiting my blog, ARIGATO!!
